A: Open the play page and choose Play Instantly (Guest). No account is required to open the command deck, start a quest stage, or play a mini-game. Guest progress stays in that browser.

A: A quest is a themed set of stages, such as Enchanted Forest or Pirate Treasure Hunt. Stages open in order. Starting a stage builds that stage's crossword. Seasonal quests appear on the command deck only while they are open.

A: A quest stage is a 15 by 15 American-style crossword. Clues are numbered across and down. Type letters into the white squares so each answer matches its clue and the word that crosses it.
Q: What is the difference between guest and signed-in play?
A: Guest play needs no account, and progress stays in the browser you are using. A signed-in player syncs XP, streaks, inventory, and co-op across devices. The shop, guilds, chat, inventory, settings, and daily rewards require an account.
Q: How does the XP and leveling system work?
A: Complete puzzles to earn Experience Points (XP). Different quest themes offer different XP rewards based on difficulty. As you earn XP, you'll level up and unlock new features.
Q: How are XP points calculated?
A: XP is calculated using a base system with bonuses, penalties, and difficulty multipliers:
- Fast Completion: +25 XP (under 5 minutes)
- No Hints: +50 XP (no reveal tokens used)
- Daily Streak: +50 XP per day (up to 7 days)
- Errors: -1 XP per wrong letter
- Reveal Tokens: -1 XP per letter revealed using tokens
- Easy Mode: 1.0X (standard XP)
- Medium Mode: 1.5X (+50% bonus!)
- Hard Mode: 2.0X (double XP!)
- Easy Mode perfect puzzle: 175 XP × 1.0 = 175 XP

Q: How do I select difficulty for a quest?
A: On the web, each quest has a set difficulty. You do not pick Easy, Medium, or Hard before a stage. Enchanted Forest is easy, Pirate Treasure Hunt and Space Adventure are medium, Medieval Castle and Ancient Egypt are hard, and Underwater Kingdom is extreme. Every stage is a 15 by 15 crossword.
Scoring still applies the quest difficulty as a multiplier: easy 1.0, medium 1.5, hard 2.0, extreme 2.5, and seasonal 1.25.
Q: How do daily free reveal tokens work?
A: You receive free reveal tokens every day to help with difficult puzzles:
- Letter Reveals: 5 free tokens per day
- Word Reveals: 2 free tokens per day
- Puzzle Solves: Get tokens from Reveal Packs and by earning the Social Slayer achievement
- Letter Tokens: Maximum 10 total (free + purchased)
- Word Tokens: Maximum 2 total (free + purchased)
- Puzzle Tokens: No limit (get from Reveal Packs and by earning the Social Slayer achievement)
- Free tokens are added daily at midnight
- If you already have 10+ letter tokens, no free letter tokens are added
- If you already have 2+ word tokens, no free word tokens are added
- Free tokens accumulate up to the maximum limits
- Purchased tokens are added on top of free tokens
Q: Can I play without an internet connection?
A: Browser play needs a connection. A stage crossword is built when you open that stage. Guest progress stays in the browser where you played it.
Q: How does account synchronization work?
A: Sign in to keep XP, streaks, inventory, and co-op progress across devices. Guest progress stays in the browser where you started it and is not copied to an account until you sign in from that same browser. Shop, guilds, chat, inventory, settings, and daily rewards require an account.
Q: How do I change settings?
A: Signed-in players open Settings from the account area. Settings, inventory, the shop, guilds, chat, and daily rewards are not available during guest play.
Q: How do Daily Challenges work?
A: Daily Challenges reset every day and offer various ways to earn chests and XP. To count a day as complete for the Weekly Reward, you must complete:

Q: What are Guild Tiers and how are they calculated?
A: Guild Tiers represent a guild's overall strength and power classification, similar to competitive divisions in other games. They are separate from leaderboard placement (the # column).
- S+ (Elite): Top 5% of guilds - the most powerful organizations
- S (Legendary): Exceptional guilds with high activity and XP
- A (Veteran): Established guilds with strong performance
- B (Established): Active guilds with solid foundations
- C (Rising): Growing guilds building their strength
- D (New/Inactive): Newly formed or inactive guilds
Guild Tier is determined by a combination of factors:
- Guild XP: Total lifetime XP from all members
- Weekly Gain: XP earned in the last 7 days (weighted 2x)
- Active Members: Members who logged in within the last 7 days (weighted 500 XP each)
Formula: Tier Score = Guild XP + (Weekly Gain × 2) + (Active Members × 500)

- The # column shows leaderboard placement (1st, 2nd, 3rd)
- Tiers reward both activity and growth, not just raw XP
- Smaller active guilds can compete with larger inactive ones

A: Seasonal themes are limited-time quest adventures that are only available during specific times of the year. They offer unique challenges and rewards!

- They automatically disappear when their time period ends

A: Gems are premium in-game currency used to purchase chests, tokens, and other items from the Shop. There are three types of gems:

- 💎 Diamonds (Epic): The rarest gem type, used for premium items and top-tier chests.
